More than 40 families with seriously ill children enjoyed some much - needed time out at the NRMA's Ocean Beach Holiday Park in Umina today.
NRMA Director Kyle Loades said the NRMA was proud to support the Starlight Children's Foundation to give families with seriously ill children a break from hospital and treatment rooms for a day of fun.
"The Starlight Escape Fun Day was a huge success - kids had a blast doing things they normally don't have the chance to do," Mr Loades said.
Ocean Beach Events & Activities Coordinator, Jess Henderson said face painting, surfing lessons, jumping castles and African drumming were just a few of the activities kids could choose from.
"Families also took time out to enjoy the natural beauty of the park with a bush walk - a welcome change to the hospital environment," Ms Henderson said.
"Local businesses and staff volunteers from the Holiday Park and NRMA Motoring & Services worked alongside Starlight to make the day one the kids would remember.
"The NRMA's educational Mobile Member Centre was also present with the latest in road safety information, children's games and X-box consoles."
The Starlight Children's Foundation, one of the NRMA's corporate charity partners, helps seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families to escape the daily reality of their illnesses. The Starlight Escape Days are just one of the popular programs they offer to children and their families.
