Casino Pre-School, Batteries Promotion, media release

Author: NRMA Media Date: 28 November 2008

NRMA Motoring & Services Casino Country Service Centre today presented a $2,500 cheque to Jumbunna Community Pre School and Early Intervention Centre in Casino.

During August and September, NRMA Batteries and Car Electrics held a promotion with NRMA’s Country Service Centre (CSC) network. For every battery sold over their target they received an entry in the draw to win $2,500 towards a community initiative.

Eric Box Mitsubishi who operates Casino's CSC hosted today's event, which included a barbeque and cheque presentation. The event was attended by staff and children from Jumbunna and representatives from NRMA Batteries and Car Electrics.

Local NRMA Director Wendy Machin said the NRMA supported regional communities by providing business and community initiatives such as the battery sales competition.

"Our Road Safety program provides $100,000 worth of grants to communities and councils who want to educate their communities about road and motoring awareness," Ms Machin said.

"We also provided assistance to more than 250 farming families this year by giving them a well-earned 'break from it all' - a free five night stay at any one of the NRMA's five holiday parks."

During 2008, four NRMA Batteries and Car Electrics promotions took place. $20,000 was provided to eight community groups in regional NSW. The program will continue in 2009.
