NRMA Motoring & Services Director Kyle Loades has welcomed the State Government’s commitment of a record $114 million for Central Coast road spending.
"The Iemma Government has recognised the importance of the F3 Freeway as a vital arterial link for Central Coast commuters by announcing several key initiatives today,” Mr Loades said.
"The F3 Freeway is yet another step closer to being a continuous six-lane thoroughfare with the announcement of plans to widen the road between Mount Colah and Cowan, to the tune of $30 million.
"he F3 Freeway has also been allotted an additional $23 million to develop a traffic emergency plan.” Mr Loades said local roads had not been left out of the picture either.
"Central Coast Highway and Avoca Road will receive upgrades at various intersections while the State Government confirmed its pledge to complete the $42 million upgrade of the Central Coast Highway north of Ocean View Drive at Wamberal by the end of the year," Mr Loades said.
"While the NRMA welcomes these investments, there is still a lot of work to do to upgrade Central Coast roads. “The critical Brisbane Water Drive / Manns Road over-pass did not receive funding today."

There are now more reasons to smile. While Roadside Assistance remains at our heart, NRMA Membership now means so much more.
