Australian motor sport legend Coral Taylor has been appointed to fill the vacant position on the NRMA Motoring & Services’ Board, NRMA President Alan Evans said today.
"For some time the NRMA Board has been looking for a suitable person to represent our Members in Northern and North-Western Sydney and we are delighted Coral has joined the company," Mr Evans said.
"Coral Taylor is a passionate motoring enthusiast. She manages Toyota’s TRD rally team where she is responsible for the year-round organisation of the rally team's highly complex logistics.
"Coral has also been involved in motor sport for more than 25 years, winning the Australian Rally Championship three times as co-driver with Neal Bates in the 1990s."
The geographical area now represented by Ms Taylor is the NRMA region of Howe, which takes in key suburbs in northern and north-western Sydney including Parramatta, Blacktown, Baulkham Hills, Epping and Richmond.
"There are enormous issues facing motorists in north-western Sydney, including the M7 and Lane Cove tunnels, Windsor and Epping Road congestion and a lack of public transport options - I am pleased Coral will be able to represent the interests of NRMA members locally," Mr Evans said.
"Coral also has a strong focus on road safety issues and driver training and has lived in the region for the last 20 years. She also holds a heavy vehicle licence, which will give the Board valuable insight into trucking and heavy vehicle issues."
Ms Taylor said she was looking forward to contributing to the Board’s policies on issues affecting motorists.
"I have spent many years working with cars in the motor sport racing industry and I am very pleased to be able to share my knowledge of motoring with the rest of the Board," Ms Taylor said.
Ms Taylor is also a Director of Tamroc Enterprises Pty Ltd, which is a company engaged in the building industry.

There are now more reasons to smile. While Roadside Assistance remains at our heart, NRMA Membership now means so much more.
