Mr David Lumb has been appointed to the position of Executive General Manager, Group Communications, with NRMA Motoring & Services.
NRMA Group CEO Tony Stuart said Mr Lumb’s appointment would strengthen the NRMA Group’s corporate affairs capability and help the organisation reinforce its public position as the authoritative voice on motoring issues.
"David joins the NRMA during an exciting growth phase as we build on our advocacy programs and develop new products and services in the motoring, travel and lifestyle sectors," Mr Stuart said.
"NRMA's diversification strategy in the past three years has enabled the company to invest in a range of new businesses, including the Travelodge Hotel chain, Thrifty car rental, Adventure World Travel and five holiday parks.
"The company has also developed new businesses, including NRMA Safer Driving Schools, business motoring product NRMA BusinessWise, car-buyers’ safeguard website NRMA CarWise and NRMA MotorServe car servicing centres.
"David has a wealth of experience and expertise in public affairs strategy and management and will be a great addition to the NRMA’s executive leadership team."
Mr Lumb joins the NRMA following close to six years with Porter Novelli, where he was Managing Director of the Sydney office. He has worked with a broad variety of clients on corporate communication campaigns and strategies.
Mr Lumb replaces Brett Gale, who has left the NRMA to become Chief of Staff to the Assistant Treasurer in the Australian Government.

There are now more reasons to smile. While Roadside Assistance remains at our heart, NRMA Membership now means so much more.
