NRMA to open new car servicing business in Artarmon

Author: NRMA MediaDate: 05 February 2008

NRMA Motoring & Services will bring its automotive expertise to Artarmon with a new car servicing business called NRMA MotorServe.

NRMA Director Geoff Toovey said the new Artarmon business would be the NRMA's third MotorServe in Sydney, following the success of its Liverpool and Seven Hill sites, which opened last year.

"NRMA has looked at the market and Artarmon is an ideal location to further expand the MotorServe network with more than 106,000 NRMA Members living within seven kilometres of the new site in Herbert Street," Mr Toovey said.

"We are looking forward to investing in the local automotive industry and will offer apprenticeship initiatives that will help grow local industry talent and bring employment to the area."

NRMA MotorServe Artarmon, planned to be operational by April 2008, will have eight mechanics on hand to service up to 30 vehicles a day.

Mr Toovey said the NRMA centre would offer a first-class car servicing experience for its customers.

"Our Members have told us they want good, honest car servicing without any hidden costs and that is what NRMA MotorServe will deliver," Mr Toovey said.

Experienced, friendly mechanics will use the latest equipment to offer motorists:

  • General servicing
  • Log book servicing (following vehicle manufacturer’s service schedules)
  • Battery testing and replacements
  • Brake, exhaust, suspension, wheel and tyre services, and
  • Registration inspections (pink slips)

Customers requiring major and specialist repairs will be recommended to one of the local NRMA Approved Repairers in the surrounding area.

NRMA MotorServe car servicing centres are run under strict operating procedures to ensure service consistency. Services are "menu driven" with fixed prices so the customer understands exactly what they are paying for, and why.

NRMA products and services including membership, maps, and special publications will also be available.

Mr Toovey said the service centre would be open to the general public, with NRMA Members enjoying 10 per cent off labour costs associated with servicing and repairs.
