NRMA Brings Road Safety And Breakdown Assistance To Shoalhaven

Author: NRMA Motoring & ServicesDate: 28 May 2009

NRMA's Mobile Member Centre will bring road safety education to Nowra this Sunday 31 May as well as a great new membership offer to help local families in difficult times at the Shoalhaven Motor-Lifestyle Expo.

NRMA Motoring & Services Director Alan Evans said the expo would be a great opportunity for people living in the Shoalhaven area to visit the NRMA's Mobile Member Centre and get some important winter motoring advice.

"Driving in wet, winter conditions can be treacherous and drivers need to be much more careful on the roads," Mr Evans said.

"For the first time, the NRMA is also offering membership for six months with unlimited roadside assistance call-outs to help families without current membership cope with the financial crisis.

"NRMA roadside statistics show drivers are also more likely to need roadside assistance over winter. The six-month membership for $50 will give Shoalhaven families who have not been able to afford roadside assistance peace of mind.

"This the first time in 89 years that NRMA membership of this kind has been offered.

"The special NRMA membership rate of $50 for six months provides unlimited call-outs for roadside assistance anywhere in Australia, 20 kilometres worth of free towing and special membership discounts and offers through the More4Members program."

The Mobile Member Centre will also provide Shoalhaven Motor-Lifestyle Expo-goers with:

  • The opportunity for 17 and 18 year olds to sign up for 12 months free NRMA roadside assistance through the Free2go Program.
  • Demonstrations of NRMA's Travel Planner with over 15 million driving maps to save motorists time and petrol when holidaying.
  • Interactive crash test videos of a large variety of makes and models and online road safety activities to highlight road, vehicle and driver safety.
  • The latest safety fact sheets and information about alternative fuel.
  • NRMA's travel and lifestyle publications on sale.

Mr Evans said it was the NRMA, Volvo Trucks and Subaru's longstanding partnership in safety that makes it possible to provide practical ways of demonstrating road safety to the public.

NRMA's Mobile Member Centre will be at the Shoalhaven Motor-lifestyle Expo on Sunday 31 May 2009 (9:30am to 5:00pm). Location: Nowra Showground, Nowra.
