Yamba Variety Club The Big Winner In NRMA Batteries Promotion

Author: NRMA Motoring & ServicesDate: 01 April 2009

NRMA Motoring & Services Yamba Country Service Centre today presented a $2,500 cheque to Yamba Variety Club.

Earlier this year, NRMA Batteries and Car Electrics held a promotion with NRMA's Country Service Centre (CSC) network. For every battery sold over their target, Yamba CSC received an entry in the draw to win $2,500 towards a community initiative.

See-Breeze Motors which operates Yamba's CSC hosted today's event that was attended by staff and children from Yamba Variety Club and representatives from NRMA Batteries.

Yamba CSC Proprietor Paul Skippen was delighted that Yamba Variety Club were the beneficiaries of their outstanding battery sales.

"They will use the money to purchase a new computer for a local disabled student and support other students with special needs," Mr Skippen said.

NRMA President and local Director Wendy Machin said the NRMA supported regional communities by providing business and community initiatives such as the battery sales competition.

"It's fantastic that NRMA Yamba and NRMA Batteries are so willing to support to local community initiatives and groups," Ms Machin said.

"It will be great to see the positive impact and joy this donation will make to the students with special needs in the community who will be receiving it."

In 2009, NRMA Batteries will conduct four CSC promotions whereby $20,000 will be donated to eight community groups in regional NSW.

Four NRMA CSC's have already provided a total of $10,000 in donations to local community groups. This money has gone towards specialist equipment for special need children in Casino, a water jump for an equestrian centre in Nyngan, solar panels on a church in Bega and to help enclose the Pambula swimming pool.

NRMA Batteries looks forward to continuing to assist local communities.

Editor's Note: Today's presentation will occur at 1.00pm at See-Breeze Motors (8 Favorite Avenue, Yamba). Attending will be representatives and students from Yamba Variety Club and NRMA Batteries.
