Bonny Hills Helping Hand, Dianne Raeburn has been nominated in this year's NRMA Helping People Awards for her outstanding contribution to the community.
Dianne Raeburn has been nominated for a Senior Volunteer Award for her work at UnitingCare Burnside Family Support Centre in Port Macquarie.
NRMA President Wendy Machin said NRMA launched the Helping People Awards in 2005 to shine a light on volunteers who rarely get recognised for their important community work.
"Mrs Raeburn's work in the community is an inspiring example of helping others and I encourage people to nominate a volunteer they know who also does amazing work," Ms Machin said.
Co-worker, Michelle Pollock said she nominated Dianne for an NRMA award because of her incredible passion for helping others.
"Dianne volunteers weekly with energy and enthusiasm at two Burnside-supported playgroups and we have come to rely on her, not only for all the work she does, but for her sunny personality and great sense of humour," Mrs Pollock said.
"Nothing is too much trouble for Di and she happily does anything requested of her at the playgroups and after hours as well.
"Dianne deserves to be recognised and rewarded for the tireless work she does for Burnside."
It's not too late to nominate someone you know who is a real Helping Hand. Volunteers can be nominated in one of the following award categories until Friday, 16 July 2010:
The four winners will receive a $5,000 donation to the charity they volunteer for, plus a great Australian getaway for two.
