Deadline Extended To Nominate A Volunteer

Author: NRMA MediaDate: 19 July 2010

The deadline to nominate volunteers from NSW and the ACT for an NRMA Helping People Award has been extended to Friday 13 August.

NRMA President Wendy Machin said the NRMA Helping People Award nominations for volunteers from a charity or not-for-profit organisation would now be accepted until Friday 13 August 2010.

"Applications originally closed 16 July but we have received a number of requests for the deadline to be extended to allow people to submit quality nominations," Ms Machin said.

"The volunteers nominated so far are an inspirational group of people committed to helping others in the community.

"Choosing four winners will be extremely difficult because everyone deserves recognition for their enormous contribution to making our society a better place.

"The four winners will receive a great Australian getaway for two and a $5,000 donation will be given to the charity they volunteer for."

  • Community Volunteer Award (age 25-59)
