Guidelines for community support

Guiding our community support

NRMA Motoring & Services is the NSW and ACT motorists' champion. We deliver roadside assistance, advocacy, travel and tourism, and other services that mean our Members can enjoy safer motoring.

We’re proud of our heritage as a mutual organisation, and are always looking to take a bigger role in the community. We also look for local partners who share our values.

We prefer to support activities that:

  • Are consistent with the social responsibilities of a Motorist's Champion
  • Will be co-ordinated by a well-respected organisation
  • Are capable of generating positive local media coverage
  • Will help build awareness of NRMA Motoring & Services with members of the sponsored organisation and with the wider community
  • Offer enough lead time for NRMA Motoring & Services to gain maximum sponsor benefits. On average, requests must have a minimum of 6 weeks lead time. Although this lead time may increase depending on the level of investment sought
  • Offer a range of benefits that are consistent with the amount of the sponsorship fee.

Unfortunately we can’t support:

  • Activities that don’t support NRMA's core values and conflict with our social responsibilities as a motorists' champion
  • Programs that are also sponsored by our competitors
  • Organisations that pursue political policies or religious activities
  • Bodies that make grants available to others, such as Trusts and Foundations
  • Individuals seeking support or fundraising on behalf of individuals/charities
  • International aid programs
  • Initiatives and projects based outside of NSW and the ACT.

Sponsorship decisions

Please note that all sponsorship decisions are discretionary. Even if the criteria are fully or partially met, the sponsorship proposal may still be declined due to budget constraints or competing priorities.

Submitting your proposal

When you submit your proposal, we want to know as much about your project as possible. Be sure to include:

  • A brief description of the proposed event, activity or project, including the dates
  • The likely number and type (age, gender and interests) of the participants and the target audience, and the amount sought and terms (i.e. one-off, on-going financial commitment etc)
  • Sponsorship benefits, including if NRMA is offered exclusivity and if not, who else is being approached/has agreed to be involved. Signage rights, media opportunities, opportunities for staff involvement, hospitality, opportunity to promote products and services etc
  • How will the success of the event/activity/project be measured?
  • Names of directors or officials of your organisation
  • ABN and/or evidence of charitable status
  • Contact names, telephone numbers and email details.
