In early 2007 NRMA Motoring & Services (NRMA) appointed The Hon. John Slattery AO QC KC*SG (former Judge of the Supreme Court of NSW); Edward Ian Dickson (former Electoral Commissioner for NSW) and Professor Donald Morrison Grant AM (former Surveyor General of NSW) to be members of the Boundaries Commission (Commission), an independent working group, for the 2008 Board election.
The Commission, in accordance with the NRMA Constitution, reviewed the nine existing NRMA electoral regions, taking into consideration a number of factors.
These included the number and location of membership across the regions, the requirement that the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area be divided into not more than 5 regions and that the rest of NSW and the ACT be divided into not less than 4 regions, and community of interests within each region.
Details of the proposed new boundaries and names of each region were published in the Sep/Oct 2007 edition of Open Road magazine, in newspapers and on the NRMA website to give Members the opportunity to have their say about the proposed regions.
Following consideration of feedback from Members, the Commission has determined the final boundaries and names of the regions as well as the regions in which Members whose registered address are outside NSW and the ACT are entitled to vote. Details of the Commission's determinations, including maps of the finalised regional boundaries for the 2008 Board Election are available via the links below.
Details in relation to the 2008 Board Election will be made available later in the year.
