CLEVER Car
The CLEVER (Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport) vehicle is a collaborative project with nine European countries and is being developed at the University of Bath's Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control.

Its frame work is strengthened to give extra protection to occupants in a crash and it is capable of a top speed in excess of 80 km/h.

At just over one metre wide it is half a metre narrower than the average micro car.

Engineers have developed a unique tilting chassis that keeps the vehicle stable in corners. The vehicle controls the amount of tilt automatically, unlike motor cycles where the rider controls how far to tilt the vehicle.

The electrically controlled hydraulic active tilt system keeps the vehicle upright at low speeds and allows car-like steering at high speeds.

The CLEVER car is powered by a 218cc Rotax engine running on compressed natural gas and has a predicted fuel consumption of 1.5L/100km.
