Emergency Services

Emergency Services
NRMA Motoring & Services can get you back on the road after a breakdown, but sometimes when the unexpected or tragic happens you or your family may need emergency help. We support emergency services through sponsorship of NRMA CareFlight and Volunteer Rescue Association.

NRMA CareFlight

NRMA CareFlight is a non profit helicopter medical retrieval service that operates in Western Sydney and regional NSW. It provides emergency medical assistance, intensive care and conducts search and rescue missions.

Did you know...?
  • On average, every day, four people rely on the services of NRMA CareFlight
  • The team at NRMA CareFlight bring vital rescue and medical support via helicopters, road ambulance and fixed wing air ambulance transport
  • Up to half of all patients treated by NRMA CareFlight are injured in road accidents.
The CareFlight team of specialist doctors
NRMA CareFlight is the only rescue helicopter service in Australia to employ its own specialist doctors and is the only Australian air medical service to hold teaching accreditation with three medical colleges. At accident sites, in suburban or country hospitals, or wherever rescue is needed, CareFlight doctors can provide trauma support and intensive care medical retrieval.

How we Help CareFlight
NRMA Motoring & Services have been proud sponsors of NRMA CareFlight for more than 15 years. Our partnership has been further strengthened through NRMA becoming the major sponsor of CareFlight's second helicopter based in Orange, 280km west of Sydney. NRMA's sponsorship extends beyond a financial investment.

CareFlight Bears are sold through NRMA Branches with all money collected going direct to CareFlight. So every time you buy an NRMA CareFlight Bear you are helping to keep NRMA CareFlight in the air. Each bear has a detailed suit depicting its crucial role at NRMA CareFlight.

NRMA staff also help out with CareFlight's fundraising events including the CareFlight Venture Car Rallies. NRMA has supported the Ventures since 1999 and provides a roadside assistance van to help keep vehicles on the road. CareFlight runs four Ventures per year, attracting more than 250 participants and raising more than $230,000 annually in much needed funds.

CareFlight Venture Car Rallies - received in September, 2005
At the moment I am in Coffs Harbour half way through the CareFlight Spring Venture. This is a fantastic rally raising much needed funds for this wonderful service that so many people rely on. These rallies are exciting to be apart of  as well as challenging on our vehicles.

I would like to personally thank NRMA for sending along a support vehicle to assist and help when need be. So far Wayne Galey & Peter Watkins have been more than helpful. If we were without them I assure you two vehicles would be unable to continue on this very worthwhile fundraising event. Both Gary & Peter are doing a fabulous job.

The entire venture are very grateful to have them on board.

Thank you so much,

Car 54 - Lynda, Karen & George McNeilage.
