Motorcycle safety
The National Roads and Motorists' Association Limited (NRMA) have an interest in a broad range of issues concerning the needs of our members, as motorists and riders, and the role and influence of motoring on the safety and future of the communities in which they live.

NRMA also sponsors a Motorcycle safety website as part of its contribution to road safety. Developed by the Motorcycle Council of NSW as part of their strategic plan, it provides information to motorcyclists and others with an interest in improving motorcycle safety.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Safety

The NRMA hosted Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Safety: Issues and Developments in Motorcycle Safety as part of it's contribution to Motorcycle Safety Week in 2002. The Seminar enabled the NRMA to bring together key motorcycle safety experts, representatives of rider groups, industry and the main road safety organiszations of New South wales, Victoria and Queensland.

The Seminar provided a great deal of information concerning:
  • the nature of the safety problems for motorcyclists, in New South Wales, Australia and other countries;
  • current research into rider and driver behaviour, rider training;
  • the possibility of using ITS technology to assist in crash responses;
  • countermeasure programs being developed to address problems.

Presentations were:
