Mr Bruce Fisher and Mr Ross Turnbull have joined the Board of
Directors of the National Roads and Motorists' Association Limited
(NRMA).
Mr Fisher has extensive commercial experience in insurance,
newspapers, hotels, transport and manufacturing.He is the President of the Royal Automobile Club of Australia
and chairman of a number of manufacturing, tourism and service
companies in Australia and Papua New Guinea. These include Avant
Courier Systems Pty Ltd and Avant Management Systems Pty Ltd which
is one of Australia's largest independently owned courier
companies.He is also a director and chair of the Prostate Cancer
Foundation of Australia.A graduate of the Harvard and Wharton Business Schools, Mr
Turnbull is a company director and solicitor.He has been a councillor of the NSW Law Society, a member of the
Young Presidents' Organisation and involved for many years in
sport, particularly rugby union, as a player and administrator. He
was an elected member of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust for 12
years, a director of the International Rugby Board and a member of
the organising committee of the first Rugby World Cup.He is a director of the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, the
NSW Corporate Fundraising Committee for the Australian Olympic
Games Team Fund (Athens 2004) and is a trustee of the Newcastle
Regional Art Gallery.Mr Fisher and Mr Turnbull were appointed to the positions
vacated by Mr Nicholas Whitlam and Ms Anne Keating.
