As the year winds down, Audi has revved up and released limited editions of the R8, RS5 and TT RS.
Plus, it will offer the S3 Sportback Limited Edition and A1 (picured right) Competition Kit models in early 2012.
Some of these quite desirable models have already been spoken for, with initial take up showing that Audi fans already like what they see.
We recently sampled these vehicles on track, where we could really put them through their paces under a range of track activities.
It started out wet but thankfully the track dried up as the day went on. Starting with the heavy hitting R8, the Carbon Edition extras are available in either Coupe or Spyder form.
Given Audi states the package is worth around $38,000, the price premium of $10,900 over the usual R8 pricing is very reasonable.
Only ten of these vehicles will land Down Under. The package includes special 19in alloy wheels and carbon fibre exterior trim.
The RS5 Limited Edition (pictured right) will be kept to 25 only in Australia ensuring it too is highly sought after.
It will be available with Audi’s top spec suspension and ride control as optional equipment but will come standard with 20in alloy wheels, a sports exhaust system and panoramic sunroof. Pricing remains unchanged from the standard version, starting at $175,300.
The TT RS (pictured right) doesn’t get forgotten either with a 45 example Limited Edition that delivers the 7-speed S Tronic gearbox to the range.
Like the RS5, pricing remains the same, meaning you can get into a TT RS with the additions for $139,900. Those additions mean you will get special 19in alloy wheels, a sports exhaust system, adaptive headlights and a black exterior package.
The S3 Sportback Limited Edition is based on the 5-door version and will be available from early 2012. It includes 18in alloy wheels, a flat bottomed sports steering wheel and MMI Navigation Plus.
Sixty of these Limited Edition S3s will be available and cost will only rise $2800 despite Audi claiming the extra value to be more than $9000. That means you can buy one for $74,500.
The baby A1 gets to join the party too with fifty special editions known as wearing ‘Competition Kit’ coming online early in 2012 also.
Upgrades for the A1 include a lower front spoiler, larger roof spoiler and they won’t add to the price of the current A1 1.4 TFSI Ambition.
Launching these new models at a private track just outside Sydney, Audi was excited about the prospects of another big year in 2012. 2011 was another successful year for the brand Down Under and they are hoping to replicate that success again in 2012.
