It’s been hotly anticipated since the very first prototype hit the Range Rover stand. And after its release to the Australian Public last year, everyone in Australia wants a piece of the Range Rover Evoque. Well, the people who aren’t squealing about it ‘ruining’ the Range Rover brand anyway.

As befitting it’s ‘lifestyle SUV’ title, the Evoque will be available with a wide array of features that you can order to personalise your own vehicle. Perhaps most impressive is the fact that pricing starts at $53,395. That money will get you into the TD4 Evoque Pure – 5-door, 6-speed manual, 4WD model. The range topping Si4 Evoque Prestige CoupA will set you back $77,395 and features a 6-speed auto.

Retail deliveries will commence in Australia in November this year and it’s fair to assume Range Rover will not be able to get enough stock to satisfy demand. Across the range, all engines are turbocharged, either state of the art turbo diesel or petrol ensuring maximum power and efficiency. The updated turbo diesel delivers 110kW or 140kW depending on model, and the new petrol engine churns out an impressive 177kW thanks to direct injection, turbo charging and twin variable valve timing. Not only is the engine efficient thanks to the technology, it also scoots along nicely, taking the Evoque from 0-100kph in just 7.6-seconds.

Rather than interior trim options as you would be used to, buyers will be able to choose from ‘themes’ within the Evoque range. There’s three options including Pure, prestige and Dynamic to choose between. Pure will be the more contemporary option, Prestige focuses on a luxury feel and Dynamic embraces a bold and sporting character according to Range Rover.

Within these three themes there will also be tech packs and optional extras that can be added to the spec list. In short, you’ll be able to order your Evoque just about any way you want it. We already know the Ecoque is a beautiful looking vehicle from every angle. In fact, without doubt the most impressive aspect of the production model is how close to the concept vehicle it is.

We can’t wait to test the Evoque under local conditions when it lands Down Under. Stay tuned for our first drive report.
