Originally conceived to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo, the TZ3 program was much more than an exercise in concept car building. The stunning vehicle broke cover just over a year ago and was originally designed as a unique, track ready racer thanks to the funds of renowned Alfa Zagato aficionado Martin Kapp. The exterior was based on the Alfa 8C Competizione and was powered by a sensational 4.2-litre V8 and 6-speed ‘box.
From that original release, a plan was hatched to build a limited number of production vehicles designed around the same styling and theme. This production run though would be less track focused and more design oriented.
As such, the first model that was designed by Kapp is unique and known as the TZ3 ‘Corsa’. Nine production units followed and are called TZ3 ‘Stradale’. Unlike the first version though, subsequent models were powered by the thunderous Dodge Viper V10 and drivetrain. Both models were built with carbon fibre bodywork but the first model was built around a tubular steel spaceframe. The later nine models shared the Dodge Viper’s ACR platform including the drivetrain.
There’s one guarantee now that the curtain has been drawn though. While owners won’t disclose what their vehicles cost them, they won’t ever lose a cent on them given their exclusivity.
