


Mitsubishi has started the New Year off on the right foot with prospective buyers by releasing a range of Platinum Edition versions of some it’s more popular models. Lancer, Pajero, Outlander and ASX all get the special model treatment.
Lancer gets extra safety, convenience and style and goes on sale from $21,690 for the manual and $24,190 for the automatic. Now boosted by the inclusion of a reversing camera and reverse sensors, Lancer buyers will get a much safer vehicle when it comes to parking, exiting driveways, and general driving around town. Inside, lancer cops leather seat trim, heated front seats and a powered driver’s seat with slide, recline and height adjustment. The centre console and steering wheel is also wrapped in leather. The steering wheel now controls audio and phone functions along with voice activated Bluetooth. Outside, the Lancer is distinctive with 16in alloy wheels, side air dams, and special Platinum badging. The Lancer Platinum Edition is available in a range of colours including White Solid, Cool Silver, Black, Titanium, Warm Silver, Red, Lightning Blue and spectacular Orange Burst.
Pajero hasn’t been left out either with a Platinum Edition model based on the 2012 GLX available. Available in Warm White, Cool Silver, Black, Graphite, Ironbark, and Champagne, Pajero Platinum will be priced from $59,990. Stylish exterior upgrades for Pajero include privacy glass, chrome door handles and mirrors, integrated side steps, fog lamps, chrome radiator grille and special edition Platinum badging. Inside, Pajero gets the Multi Communication System with voice command, steering wheel controls and a reversing camera. Dusk sensing headlamps have been included as have rain sensing wipers. A leather steering wheel and shift knob enhance the driver’s feel of luxury while back seat passengers get a rear zone for the AC, and there’s an 850-watt Rockford Fosgate 12-speaker audio system to keep everyone entertained.
Outlander also benefits from a special Platinum Edition with pricing for the 2WD manual starting at $29,340 and 4WD manual at $33,490. A $2500 premium gets you into an auto for both models. Based on the LS model, Outlander also gets a reversing camera and sensors, while the 2WD variant gets side and curtain airbags (already standard for 4WD). Inside, the Outlander is fitted with leather seat trim, heated front seats and a powered driver’s seat. There are bright silver details to the door handles, console panel and rear door trim while the addition of Bluetooth steering wheel controls is both functional and safe. The main change outside apart from badging is the fitment of fog lamps. Outlander is available in Red, Cool Silver, Ironbark, Sapphire Blue, Black, Effect Grey and White.
Small car buyers haven’t been forgotten either with the ASX range also getting a Platinum Edition. Based on the 2WD model, the ASX interior has been upgraded with leather seat trim, heated front seats and a powered driver’s seat. Like the other special models, the ASX also gets steering wheel mounted audio and Bluetooth controls. A reversing camera has been fitted along with reverse sensors. Outside, the ASX gets a chrome muffler tip, front fog lamps and Platinum badging. The two-wheel drive ASX Platinum will be on sale at a recommended retail price of $25,990 for the manual and $28,490 for the automatic. The ASX Platinum Edition is available in White, Cool Silver, Black, Red, Sapphire Blue, Titanium, and Kingfisher Blue.
