1. How long will I be waiting?

NRMA Car Electrics will, in most cases, have the Member's vehicles mobile within 2 hours*. Research has indicated that Members with alternator and starter motor failure can wait up to and often more than 24 hours to get their vehicle repaired and back on the road.

* Subject to weather and traffic conditions.

2. Where is Car Electrics available?

The Car Electrics mobile service is available in the Metro Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong areas.

3. What hours does Car Electrics operate?

The hours of operation range between 6.30am through to 10.30pm, every day of the year for NRMA Members. Outside of these hours an appointment job can be booked for the following day.

4. Is Car Electrics competitively priced?

All NRMA Car Electrics units are very competitively priced. Comprehensive research has been conducted to ensure NRMA Car Electrics represent excellent value for money for Members. See the price comparison table.

5. What warranty does Car Electrics offer?

NRMA Car Electrics alternators and starter motors have a 2 year/40,000 kilometre (whichever comes first) nationwide warranty for a vehicle that is used for private purposes, namely social, domestic or pleasure purposes. There is also a 3 months nationwide warranty for vehicles that are used as a taxi, courier, goods carrier or for commercial purposes.

6. Does Car Electrics offer new or remanufactured units?

We offer both new and remanufactured units. Remanufactured units are often restored to "as new" specifications and exceed new unit specifications. The remanufcturing of an alternator or starter motor is a Quality Assurance process carried out in a product line.

7. Why do NRMA Car Electrics not cater for every vehicle?

While we endeavour to supply parts to most vehicle makes and models, some replacement alternators and starter motors are simply not available. For the full list of parts, check a product and price guide.
