Day 1 - Monday: Sydney - Broken Hill
Depart Sydney Central Station at 6:20am on board the CountryLink Broken Hill Outback Explorer train. On arrival at Broken Hill, you will be met by your host and transferred to your accommodation.
Day 2 - Tuesday: Broken Hill - White Cliffs
This morning travel northeast towards the unique opal mining town of White Cliffs. Visit the Solar Power Station and many underground dwellings. Take the opportunity to purchase an opal from their showrooms. (B,L,D)
Stay: Overnight at the Underground Motel (share facilities)
Day 3 - Wednesday: White Cliffs - Tibooburra
Head towards the remote corner country for your first experience of the real outback. Visit the historic township of Milparinka, Depot Glen and Tibooburra, the most remote town in NSW. (B,L,D)
Stay: Tibooburra Hotel (share facilities) for two nights
Day 4 - Thursday: Sturt National Park
Today you visit the spectacular red sandhill country of Sturt National Park, the dingo fence, and Cameron Corner where SA, QLD and NSW meet – a truly memorable experience. (B,L,D)
Day 5 - Friday: Tibooburra - Mt Gipps Station - Broken Hill
Travel south through the ever changing landscapes to a working sheep station called Mt Gipps Station. Here you will enjoy real bush hospitality. After lunch, begin your journey back to Broken Hill where you will be transferred to your accommodation and your journey ends. (B,L)
Here you have a choice of returning back to Sydney via rail journey on the Indian Pacific or alternatively stay overnight and fly back with Rex (both additional cost, please ask for details)

Stay: Broken Hill for three nights
Day 7 - Sunday: Menindee Lakes
Head to the World Heritage-listed Menindee Lakes. Travel through Kinchega National Park with its abundant wildlife and follow the Darling River as it winds through massive stands of Red Gums ton Menindee (B,L)
Day 8 - Monday: Silverton
Today explore Broken Hill’s parks and gardens, mines and homes. Visit famous art galleries before heading to Silverton. Marvel at the Mundi Mundi Plains and enjoy the spectacular Sculpture Symposium. (B,L)
Day 9 - Tuesday: Broken Hill - Sydney
After breakfast you will be transferred to Broken Hill Railway Station to catch the CountryLink Borken Hill Outback Explorer train departing at 7:45am for Sydney, arriving at 9:39pm
