Escorted Walks of Tasmania: Walk Option 2
Grade: The walk is suited to those who are medically fit and healthy and have an active life style
The Maria Island Walk, which is one of Australia's most awarded tourism experiences, is a personalised four-day guided walk on one of Tasmania's most beautiful and historic islands. In small groups of eight guests with two local guides, the group walks along pristine beaches and through ancient Blue Gum forests by day and then at night will relax sharing candlelit gourmet dining and elegant accommodation in two wilderness camps and the restored, heritage-listed Bernacchi House.
Guests carry only light packs and walk at a gentle pace so there is plenty of time to observe the abundant Tasmanian birds and wildlife or explore the fascinating history that includes a convict settlement currently being assessed for World Heritage listing. Located off the east coast of Tasmania, 90 minutes from Hobart, this island national park is renowned for its natural beauty and has a resident population of just two park rangers.
