Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday -  The XPT Sydney - Melbourne
Join The XPT this morning and settle in to your First Class Seat. Enjoy the passing of scenery as you travel from Sydney to Melbourne. On arrival make your own way to your hotel. 
Stay:  Batman’s Hill on Collins for two nights

Day 2: Friday -  Melbourne City Sights
Experience the beautiful sights of Melbourne this morning. Highlights of this tour include the Fitzroy Gardens, Parliament House, Windsor Hotel, Queen Victoria Market, MCG, Rod Laver Arena and St Patrick’s Cathedral. Enjoy a stop at the Botanical Gardens and see the Shrine of Remembrance war memorial. Travel past Albert Park’s Grand Prix circuit and over the Westgate Bridge for panoramic views of Melbourne. Finish your tour with a scenic one hour river cruise on the Yarra River, viewing the stunning city skyline. This afternoon is yours at leisure. (B)

Day 3: Saturday -  The Overland Melbourne - Adelaide
Travel aboard The Overland daylight service today. Pass through the Grampians enroute to the South Australian boarder. On arrival in Adelaide, make your way to your hotel. (B)
Stay: Rydges South Park Adelaide for three nights

Day 4: Sunday -  Adelaide City Sights
From the city to the beach, this morning you will experience the daily cosmopolitan life of Adelaide as you journey through the heart of the city. See iconic cathedrals, the North Terrace cultural boulevard, visit Colonel Light’s Lookout over Adelaide and the world-famous Adelaide Oval. Enjoy a taste of the delicious chocolates at Haigh’s Chocolate Factory before venturing out to Glenelg, the city’s bustling beach. This afternoon is at your leisure. (B)

Day 5: Monday -  Adelaide
Today is free for you to enjoy Adelaide at your leisure. (B)

Day 6: Tuesday -  Indian Pacific
Board the mighty Indian Pacific this morning. Settle in to comforts of this great train. Enjoy lunch before arriving in Broken Hills where you will have time for a Whistle Shop Tour (additional cost) before reboarding the train and continuing your journey overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Wednesday -  Indian Pacific - Sydney
Wake this morning to the picturesque views of the Blue Mountains as you wake your way into Sydney. (B)
