Day 1: Wednesday - Join the Indian Pacific in Sydney
Spend your first night on the Indian Pacific enjoying a delicious dinner along with the panoramic views of the Blue Mountains as you head west through New South Wales into the outback. (D)
Day 2: Thursday - Broken Hill and Adelaide
Explore the unique outback city of Broken Hill on a Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost) before reboarding for the rest of your journey to Adelaide. In Adelaide there’s time for another Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost) before you reboard and head west passing the Southern Flinders Ranges. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Friday - The Nullarbor, Cook and Kalgoorlie
Salt lake country gives way to the desolate Nullarbor Plain as you head west, stopping at one of the world’s most remote outposts, Cook. Stretch your legs, get some fresh air, and maybe even meet the locals – all seven of them! Then it’s on to Kalgoorlie, site of the world’s largest open-cut gold mine, where you can explore and see the rest of the city on an optional Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost). (B,L,D)
Day 4: Saturday - Avon Valley and Perth
The delightful scenery of the Avon River provides the backdrop for breakfast as you approach the Western Australian capital where the afternoon is all yours to shop, explore or just relax. Your accommodation for the next three nights is at the Travelodge Perth Hotel. (B)
Day 5: Sunday - Swan River and Fremantle
Enjoy a full day discovering Perth’s major tourist attractions on board ‘The City Explorer Tour’, a replica 1899 Perth tram. Cruise along the magnificent Swan River on your way to Fremantle. Enjoy a scenic tour of the historic port city before some free time to explore at your own pace. (B)
Day 6: Monday - Perth
With so much to see and do in and around this great city, you’ll be glad to have one more day left up your sleeve. (B)
