The wine regions of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are close by and the scenic coast drive down to the Cape is a fitting introduction to the entire Garden Route to Durban. The chance to spot the Big Five (elephant, lion, rhinoceros, buffalo and the very shy leopard) could be yours during two nights at the Makalali Private Game Lodge – be sure to join the ranger on morning and evening game drives. From South Africa it’s further north to where the mighty Zambezi River has created one of the natural wonders of the world - Livingstone’s famed Victoria Falls, “The Smoke that Thunders”.
