Is Alaska on your bucket list?
The natural wonders of Alaska's wilderness simply have to be experienced to really appreciate the granduer. This cruise & tour goes beyond any 'Inside Passage' cruise. You'll venture beyond the Alaskan towns of Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, continuing to Glacier Bay National Park. You'll also cruise College Fjord which is nothing short of spectacular. From the deck of your balcony cabin you can watch and hear calving icebergs - an experience that will remain with you forever.
After the glacial wonders we head deep into the heart of Alaska. First stop is Copper River via Alaska's largest national park - Wrangell-St Elias National Park. Here you'll see dramatic valleys and mountain tops that glaciers carved thousands of years ago. Along the way you'll begin to spot the unique wildlife of this region. NRMA Travel highly recommend you try the Alaskan Salmon and King Crab - they don't call them 'king' for nothing!
Next stop is Denali National Park. The wilderness lodge is in the centre of town. Beyond Anchorage, this is the best place to get all your Alaskan touristy trinkets for your family and friends. While in Denali, you'll take a fascinating half day historic tour. If you would like (and we highly suggest this) go deep into Denali National Park, then upgrade your tour to the Tundra Wilderness tour. The views out of the government run buses will blow you away.
Travelling is as much about getting there as the destination itself which is why the train journey from Denali to Talkeetna is so special. The double storey carriage has panoramic glass windows on the top deck so you can really take in the countless lakes, rivers and mountain ranges that pass you buy. There is also an undercover, open-air viewing platform where you can take in the clean air & take even MORE photos.
On arrival at Princess Mt McKinley Wilderness Lodge you can sit on the deck sipping on a hot chocolate watching the sun set over marvelous Mt McKinley. Next morning rest up or take an optional morning tour before heading to Anchorage.
