Day 1: Beijing
Transfer to the International Hotel on arrival.
Today visit the Temple of Heaven followed by Tiananmen Square and Gate. After lunch visit the spectacular Forbidden City. Enjoy a Peking duck dinner to welcome the group to China. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Beijing
Travel north to see the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. It is one of the best preserved sections of the Great Wall. Also see the 798 Art Zone. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Beijing - Xian
A short excursion to see (but not enter) the Birds Nest and Water Cube, followed by the spectacular Summer Palace. It is UNESCO World Heritage and the beautiful gardens and lake are deemed a masterpiece of Chinese landscape design. Later fly to Xian and transfer to the Grand Nobel Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Xian
A tour highlight, visit the famous Terracotta Warriors. The site was discovered in 1974 and contains warriors, chariots, horses, officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians. Tang Dynasty dumpling dinner and show. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Xian
Nansuo village is famous for an artist whose paintings describe daily life in rural China. Visit the Painter’s home and stroll through the village with its old earthen houses. Return to Xian and visit the Tang Art Museum followed by the Wild Goose Pagoda and Baxian Gong. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Xian - Wuhan
Fly to Wuhan and transfer to Yichang. This evening join the 5 star Yangtze River cruise which sails at 9.00 pm. (B,L,D)
Day 8: Cruise - Three Gorge Dam site, ship locks, Xiling Gorge
Morning shore visit to the Three Gorges Dam site, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks and Xiling Gorge; the largest and deepest of the Three Gorges. (B,L,D)
Day 9: Cruise - Daning River (Small Gorges)
Morning excursion to Daning River (Small Gorges), which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Pass through the final two of the Three Gorges; Wu and Qutang Gorge. (B,L,D)
Day 10: Cruise - Fengdu
On shore excursion to Fengdu, visiting either the Ghost City, known for its statues of ghosts and devils, or the relocation village. (B,L,D)
Day 11: Chongqing - Chengdu
Disembarking in picturesque Chongqing at 09.00am. Later join the soft seat train to Chengdu. On arrival transfer to the Tibet Hotel (B,L,D)
Day 12: Chengdu - Guilin
Visit the giant pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Centre. Later visit the Jinsha Ruins Museum. The ruins are one of the most important archaeological finds since the Terracotta warriors. Evening flight to Guilin and transfer to the Royal Garden Hotel (B,L,D)
Day 13: Guilin - Yangshuo
Join a cruise along the beautiful Li River, world-famous for its dramatic limestone karst scenery. Disembark in the afternoon and take a guided walk before checking in at the Green Lotus Hotel. This evening enjoy the Light Show, Liu Sanjie which uses the mountains and river as a stage with a staggering cast of 600 (B,L,D)
Day 14: Yangshuo
A free day today to relax or explore. (B)
Day 15: Yangshuo – Guilin
Transfer to Guilin and visit the Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill and Daxu old town en route. Check into the Royal Garden Hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 16: Guilin
Free time until the transfer to Guilin airport. (B)
