Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok at any time.

 

Day 2-3 Siem Reap

Explore Indochina's most incredible historic sight - the vast temple-palace complex of Angkor, capital of the Khmer Empire.  (2B)

 

Day 4-7 Kratie/Steung Treng

Perhaps see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy River Dolphin that inhabit this stretch of the Mekong as we head to the border region to volunteer at the Water Well Project, bringing fresh water to villages. (B)

 

Day 8 Don Khong

Enjoy an island stay in the heart of Si Phan Don (4000 Islands), one of the most beautiful stretches of the Mekong complete with waterfalls, coconut palms, Irrawaddy dolphins and long-tail fishing boats.

 

Day 9-11 Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang is undoubtedly the "Jewel of Laos", a peaceful riverside town of tranquil temples, incredible textiles, cafes and bakeries. Time is set aside to get involved in a Volunteer Book Party, a grassroots project helping to develop reading and literacy amongst the local children. (3B)

 

Day 12 Vang Vieng

A scenic drive through winding mountains will take us to the picturesque town of Vang Vieng.

 

Day 13 Vientiane

Scour the morning market for souvenirs, count the Buddha images in Wat Si Saket or simply relax with a Beer Lao in one of the many riverside stilt restaurants.  (B)

 

Day 14 Bangkok

Return to the glorious chaos of the capital and enjoy a farewell dinner with your new friends.

 

Day 15 Depart Bangkok (B)
