Mobile mechanics FAQs

You can expect the same great service from our mobile mechanics that you’ve always experienced with our roadside assistance Patrols. But our mobile mechanics service operates quite differently to our roadside service, so here are some FAQs to help you understand more.
Operating hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 8am to 12pm.

We provide the following services:

• Essential service — from $250 for NRMA Members*
• Log Book service in line with manufacturer’s specifications
• Vehicle repairs and diagnostics including brake repairs and replacements, suspension and shock absorbers, starter motors and alternators, and more.

We offer simple, easy to understand servicing:

• Greater price transparency
• Callout fee and use of specialist and synthetic oil is now included in service price – so there are no hidden or additional costs
• Members enjoy 10% off car servicing and repairs

We service all makes and models of vehicles, however we are unable to service vehicles over GVM 3.5 tonnes, campervans or motorhomes, motorbikes or trailers.
You don’t need to be a Member to use our mobile mechanic service. However, NRMA Members do enjoy 10% off car servicing and repairs. If you’d like to join, take a look at our Membership options.
We are currently unable to perform the NSW RMS eSafety check. We will offer a service inclusion package in the future.

We are unable to do the following work:

• Blue slip or eSafety (formerly pink slip) inspections
• Air conditioning system repairs and re-gas
• Engine replacements 
• Gear box replacements
• Clutch replacements
• Incorrect fuel draining
• Vehicle inspections (pre purchase/end of warranty)
• Fitment of second hand parts
• Fitment of customer supplied parts
• LPG registration checks

Yes, our mobile mechanics can perform same the service as your local mechanic or dealership. We use manufacturer recommended parts and oils. Additionally, as authorised log book service providers, your warranty is upheld when you service your car with us.
All repairs come with a warranty of 12 months or 20,000km on both parts and labour.

As part of our commitment to providing upfront and transparent communication, your mobile mechanic will let you know about any extra work that is required before starting additional repairs.

• We carry out a 100-point Safety Check with every booking before any work is conducted.
• A written estimate is provided before any work is commenced, including associated costs and time required.
• No additional work will be conducted without your approval.

You can book online any time or call 1300 757 645, 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Please book at least one day in advance, so our mobile mechanic can contact you and source parts.
Your mechanic will take payment on the day via EFTPOS or credit card (Visa and Mastercard only). You’ll be charged once the mechanic has completed the work and you've approved the invoice.
No. We offer a 12-month or 20,000 km warranty on all servicing, parts and repairs. So, we must be able to guarantee the quality and suitability of all parts used in order for this to be upheld.
No, our service plans and repair rates include all costs, so you won’t be charged an additional callout fee.

To ensure the safety of your vehicle and the mechanic on the day of your service:

• Your vehicle will need to be parked in a safe location, free or able to be sectioned off from through traffic.
• Vehicle access must be on a flat surface, on tarred or concrete driveway, or in a private car park.
• At least 2.1m clearance for any vehicles located in apartment or work car parks.
• Someone authorised to approve service or any repairs must be available during the service.
