NSW Safer Drivers Course

The NSW government is able to fund the Safer Drivers Course for current Health Care and Pensioner Concession card holders under 25 years of age.

Safer Drivers Course requirements

License
Hold a NSW learner licence
Must be a NSW learner licence. Other states are not accepted.
25 log book hours
Completed at least 50 log book hours*
Must be on road driving hours, excluding bonus hours.
Members
Must be under 25 years old
Students must be under 25 years old to attend the course.

How can I apply for the free Safer Drivers Course?

To be eligible you will need to ensure you have the required documentation and follow the steps below:

1. Hold one of the following:
  • Current Health care card/pensioner concession card in your name

Ensure you currently receive Centrelink benefits and hold either a current Health care card and/or pensioner Concession card issued by the Department of Human Services - Centrelink

  • Be currently or formerly in Out of Home Care (OOHC).
2. Complete the Safer Driver Course Application form below:
3. Send an email to [email protected] containing the following:
  • Your contact details (Name / Email / Phone number)
  •  Preferred Location(s) and dates
  • A scan or photo of the completed TfNSW form mentioned in Step 2
  • A photo of the front and back of your current NSW drivers licence
  • A photo of the front and back of your health care card or pensioner concession card
4. Once received a member of the driver training team will be in contact
