NRMA Members will be able to receive a 10 per cent discount off their My Fast Ferry tickets using OpalPay from today.
By logging into the my nrma app and adding their OpalPay details, Members will automatically receive a discount of almost $1 per journey when tapping on or off a My Fast Ferry trip.
The NRMA Member discount offer is the first time OpalPay has been used to offer cheaper transport tickets.
NRMA Chief Executive Officer Rohan Lund said the ticket discount demonstrated the NRMA’s ongoing commitment to look for tangible ways to help Members.
“We know that families in Sydney spend 17 per cent of their weekly budget on transport costs, which is why at the NRMA we are always looking to find ways for people to save on day-to-day spending, especially when it comes to getting to where they want to be,” Mr Lund said.
“This offer means Members travelling to and from Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Manly, Taronga Zoo, Watsons Bay and Rose Bay can put a couple of extra dollars towards ice creams on the beach for the family or fish and chips by our beautiful harbour.
“This Member discount could save families who regularly use My Fast Ferry services hundreds of dollars a year. That’s a meaningful saving and just goes towards adding value to belonging with the NRMA, and can easily offset the cost of a Membership.
“The NRMA is strategically focused on keeping people moving while solving transport and tourism challenges not only on our roads but on our blue highways as well.
“Cost of living pressures continue to rise but for Members who tap into a raft of discounts and offers available through MyNRMA and our Member discount program, Blue, we’ve estimated the average family could conservatively save $806 a year.”
The NRMA took ownership of My Fast Ferry in January 2018. The investment demonstrated NRMA’s ongoing commitment to use its balance sheet to provide transport solutions to its Members and to support Australia’s domestic tourism.
