The resort

Just 15 minutes north east from Batemans Bay, and an easy two hour drive from Canberra, the resort is the perfect place to kick back, relax and forget about the pressures of everyday life. A resort pool and a splash pad surrounded by a modern bar ensures you can cool down on a hot day, while Skippy’s Takeaway is just the thing for quick meals and coffee. If you need a lesson in chilling out, take a leaf out of the local kangaroos’ book and just sprawl out on the grass.

The accommodation

From unpowered sites to two bedroom beach houses, you’ll be sure to find an accommodation to suit whatever type of holiday you’re in the mood for. The broad range of cabins, villas and sites means whatever your budget, you can soak in all the beauty this South Coast gem has to offer. Enjoy the greenery from a stylish Forest or Garden Villa, or breathe in that salty air from an Ocean Spa Villa – just four steps from deck to sand. Bliss.

The neighbourhood

The resort is located on the NSW South Coast in the peaceful coastal town of South Durras. Perfectly positioned between a sparkling lake, ocean beaches and rich forests, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled onto your own little paradise. With the town surrounded by national park, native animals are never far away so you can get a glimpse of wallabies, goannas, parrots and cockatoos on a daily basis. For a touch of active sightseeing, strap on the sneakers and take a walk to Wasp Head to spy golden beaches, hidden bays and ancient cliffs. And while the resort’s remoteness makes you think bustling Batemans Bay couldn’t be so close, a quick 20 minute drive can have you easily swap animal spotting for people watching along the town’s cafe strip. The Moruya Country Markets, held every Saturday from 8am on the banks of the Moruya River, is always a delightful way to kick off the weekend, then make a booking at On The Pier for local seafood and a crisp glass of white.
