Current fuel prices and prediction

  • The average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 222.9 cents per litre (Monday evening).
  • Average regular unleaded prices rose 23.3 cents per litre this past week, rising to the top of the next cycle and expected to peak in the low 220s this week.
  • The average diesel price in Sydney is 202.6 cents per litre.
  • Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded rose 2.3 cents per litre and diesel prices rose 1.1 cents per litre.

World Crude Oil Prices

Over the previous week the average:

  • Tapis crude oil rose $US 1.6 per barrel to $US 92.7 per barrel.
  • Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) rose $US 0.4 per barrel to $US 107.2 per barrel.
  • Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) rose $US 1.7 per barrel to $US 108.4 per barrel.

Sydney Wholesale Prices

Over the previous week the average:

  • Regular unleaded fuel fell 0.5 cents per litre to 187.3 cents per litre.
  • Diesel fuel rose 1.3 cents per litre to 188.4 cents per litre.

Sydney Diesel Prices

Sydney diesel prices rose 2.1 cents per litre last week. Current average diesel price is 202.6 cents per litre.

Looking Ahead

Average regular unleaded prices rose 23.3 cents per litre this past week, rising to the top of the next cycle and expected to peak in the low 220s this week.

Average regular unleaded prices in Sydney should range between 189 cents per litre (at the low point of the current cycle) and 223 cents per litre (at the high point of the next cycle).

The average price ranges for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 should be as follows:

  • E10 – a low point of 188 cents per litre and a high point of 222 cents per litre.
  • Premium 95 –  a low point of 206 cents per litre and a low point of 242 cents per litre.
  • Premium 98  – a low point of 212 cents per litre and a low point of 247 cents per litre.

Sydney's current average diesel price is 202.6 cents per litre – up 2.1 cents per litre this past week.

The current average LPG price in Sydney is 102.6 cents per litre –up 0.3 cents per litre this past week.
