The hotel
Located in the heart of Newcastle, close to local nightlife, eat streets, beaches and the rejuvenated waterfront, Travelodge Hotel Newcastle offers a good base for exploring both the city and the Hunter and Lake Macquarie regions. The neighbourhood
Newcastle Art Gallery houses one of the nation’s biggest art collections outside the capital cities, while Newcastle Museum is dedicated to vibrant exhibitions about the former “Steel City”. Bohemian Darby Street is not far from the Travelodge: walk down it to find cafes, restaurants, bars, fashion boutiques and unique shopping experiences. The restaurants, cafes and bars of Honeysuckle Drive and Wharf Road are also within easy access of the hotel, as is Hunter Street Mall – Newcastle’s original shopping strip (you’ll find brand stores, boutiques, outlets and quirky craft offerings). Famous Nobbys Beach is the preferred beach for families and those learning to surf, while football fans will appreciate a visit to McDonald Jones Stadium, where the Newcastle Knights and Jets play their home games.
