Friday 21 July 2023: The NRMA has partnered with GIVIT as part of the launch of its renewed membership program to help more members support their communities by connecting them with over 4,600 organisations and local community groups through the My NRMA.

The partnership has launched as part of NRMA’s new offering for members and will help connect Members across the NRMA group with opportunities to volunteer in the community.

NRMA Chief Technology Officer, Cormac Hodgkinson, said the NRMA has a long and proud history of supporting Australian communities and our members have told us they want to do more to make a positive difference within their communities.

“Many of our members have said they want to get involved but don’t know where to begin; this is why we’ve partnered with GIVIT to help connect our members who have a hand to give, with community groups and charities who need a hand,” Mr Hodgkinson said.

“As the cost of living increases, we know it is harder for families to offer financial gifts to those in need. Our members tell us they still want to support their communities but would prefer to do so through volunteering.

Over the last 100 years, the NRMA has been there to work alongside not only their members, but the communities where we all live, work and explore through floods, fires, and the recent pandemic. Mr Hodgkinson said the NRMA first came across GIVIT while our staff supported flood recovery efforts in the Northern Rivers last year.

“Our partnership with GIVIT allows our members to search for local opportunities where they can offer their time and skills to a charity or local community group. By using GIVIT our members can be sure they are giving exactly what is needed by the community in distress, Mr Hodgkinson said.

GIVIT currently partners with over 4,500 charities, support groups and local government partners to help support local communities. For more information or to join My NRMA visit: https://www.mynrma.com.au
