A spectacular day out

Fraser Island in a day is certainly not long enough to see all that Fraser has to offer. It is however long enough to get a glimpse of just how spectacular Fraser really is.

This one-day tour is a long but rewarding day trip for all. Take the opportunity to explore the islands main attractions, including freshwater perched lakes, expansive golden sand hills and stunning rainforest.

Head across the Noosa River via cable ferry crossing taking you deep into the Cooloola National Park and highlighting the Teewah and Rainbow Beach coloured sands before stopping for morning tea on the beach.

On Fraser Island we travel along the spectacular Seventy Five Mile Beach and explore the natural beauty of this magnificent wilderness with a stop for a guided rainforest walk. Enjoy an authentic Aussie BBQ Lunch followed by a refreshing freshwater lake swim tops off a perfect day on the World's largest sand island!

Return to the mainland through the towering forests of Satinay and Brushbox and navigate your way down the 'sandy highway' enjoying an afternoon tea stop on remote beach stretches before returning to Noosa.

Glow Worm Cave

In the cool dark environment of the Natural Arch Cave, millions of glow worms make their home. These tiny creatures invisible to the eye during daylight create a spectacular display at night.

An experienced guide will take you on a short walk through the rainforests of Springbrook Plateau into the Natural Arch. There is also the opportunity for some star gazing in the unpolluted night sky. See the city highrise lights of the Gold Coast. (Note. It is advisable to wear walking shoes and bring warm clothing as it can become quite cool in the rainforest in the evenings)

Croc Experience Tour

This tour goes to and from Australia Zoo, made famous by the antics of Steve and Terri Irwin and their global documentaries; the zoo is now a living legacy to Steve and his wildlife conservation efforts.

This wildlife "theme park" is too good to rush so our tour guests are allocated almost six hours to view the shows and demonstrations including crocodile feeding and snake handling. The handlers even walk some animals through the park so you can get "up close and personal."

The zoo has a team of over 500 staff who believe in "conservation through exciting education", and will ensure you have a wildlife experience you'll never forget. A state-of-the-art wildlife hospital has also been opened at Australia Zoo.

The journey to and from Australia Zoo takes in all the sights of the majestic Glasshouse Mountains bordered by pineapple plantations and pine forests.

Lamington National Park

Take in the spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast

From Mt Tamborine, then onto O'Reilly's where you will traverse old logging tracks and hear of the epic adventures of early settlers. Walk through the treetops 16 metres above the forest floor.

At Mount Tamborine enjoy scenic views to the Gold Coast as you climb the range to Mount Tamborine. Enjoy a stop at Gallery Walk with time to explore the many arts and crafts shops which make up the premier Art and Craft centre of South East Queensland.

Travel through Canungra, home of the Australian Army's Jungle Warfare Training Centre and feel the history of the area as we traverse old logging tracks and travel through ancient rainforest to Lamington National Park.

O'Reilly's is situated in the centre of the cool, quiet rainforest of Lamington National Park. Explore this beautiful National Park, with over 20 000 hectares of sub tropical rainforest. Hear the calls of native birds as you walk through the tree tops, 16 metres above the rainforest floor.

Learn the history of the O'Reilly family and of the heroic rescue by Bernard O'Reilly of two survivors from the Stinson plane crash. Lunch (own expense) is available overlooking the green valley below.
