Tweed Heads local, Paul Coleman has been named Country Service Centre Patrol of the Year at NRMA Motoring & Services' annual Country Service Centre Conference.
NRMA Group CEO Tony Stuart said Paul exemplified the community spirit of the NRMA and was a valuable member of the Tweed Heads Country Service Centre team.
"Through his past 18 years of Road Service in Tweed Heads, Paul has been an inspiring example of helping our Members above and beyond the call of duty," Mr Stuart said.
"The NRMA is delighted to recognise Paul's high quality of work with this award."
In 2009, NRMA Country Service Centres (CSCs) have helped almost 80,000 stranded motorists in the country area.
Mr Stuart said that without NRMA road service officers of Paul's calibre, this vital and essential service to the people in those communities would not be possible.
"I would like to congratulate and thank the other two finalists - Jason Sylvester from Tamworth and Alan Sheldon from Taree - for their outstanding commitment to quality service," Mr Stuart said.
Nominations for Road Service Patrol Officer of the Year came from all over country NSW via letters of praise from customers, regional managers and CSC proprietors commenting on their road service officers' consistently excellent service.
Local country manager Mario Napoli said he nominated Paul for the Country Road Service Centre Patrol of the Year because of his excellent standard of road service in the Tweed Heads area.
"Paul who is employed by NRMA's Road Service contractors Brett Robinson and Craig Cameron, has a genuine concern for our Members when they are in need and he is a very worthy winner of this award," Mr Napoli said.
Delegates from more than 200 CSCs throughout NSW and the ACT attended the annual conference and awards night, held this year on the Gold Coast.

There are now more reasons to smile. While Roadside Assistance remains at our heart, NRMA Membership now means so much more.
