The average price for regular unleaded is currently 168.9 cents per litre and is expected to continue falling over the coming days into the mid-160s. The cheapest price for regular unleaded is currently 149.7 cents per litre with a 60-cent gap between the cheapest and most expensive stations.
There are currently extensive bargains across the city. Over 40 per cent (43.1%) of service stations across Sydney are selling regular unleaded on or below 167.9 cents per litre. Meanwhile nine per cent of service stations are charging 180.9 cents per litre or higher.

Global oil prices have remained relatively stable throughout most of 2025 with Australia’s regional benchmark price for unrefined crude, Malaysian Tapis, currently selling at $US 71.7 a barrel. Sydney’s wholesale price for regular unleaded is currently 162.9 cents per litre.
NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury said there was a $33 saving to be made on a full tank of fuel by filling up at the cheapest compared to the most expensive service in Sydney today, highlighting the need to get on the my NRMA Rewards app and find the cheapest local price before filling up.
“It’s nice to have some good news for families heading into a long weekend so we want Sydneysiders to make the most of prices as we hit the bottom of the price cycle in Sydney – if you’re visiting for the NRL Grand Final we encourage you filling up while you’re here,” Mr Khoury said.
“For those heading away for the long weekend fill up before you leave and if you have to top up before coming back into Sydney use the my NRMA Rewards app before filling up as there is a wide spread of prices across the state.”
