Sustainability

From leading the electric vehicle transition to enriching our regional communities, we’re actively doing what we can today for a better tomorrow.
Sustainability

The NRMA was founded with an aim to keep people moving and communities connected well into the future. To maintain this focus, we’re continually embedding and improving our sustainability practices.

Our sustainability pillars

As one of Australia’s largest member-owned organisations, community and sustainability are at the core of who we are.

Our sustainability pillars

We’ve committed to goals that play into our unique strengths in motoring and mobility, our expansive regional tourism footprint, and most importantly, the collective power of our people and members.

We will tackle the climate crisis head-on by helping Australians to make the transition to electric vehicles as quickly, sustainably and equitably as possible, ensuring no one gets left behind. We are leading by example by reducing our own emissions in line with climate targets through electrification and renewable energy.
How we drive impact:

Leading the charge on electric vehicles.
Mitigating our climate & environmental impact.
We will authentically embrace Reconciliation by growing cultural awareness and fostering Indigenous partnerships across our tourism network, while stimulating regional development through investment in sustainable tourism, regional infrastructure and employment. We will be there for communities in times of need, bolstering disaster preparedness and recovery.
How we drive impact:

Embracing reconciliation.
Contributing to regional development, connectivity & resilience.
We will continue our legacy of advocating for and educating the community on road safety. We will uphold the highest safety standards within our own organisation, and embed D&I and wellbeing in NRMA’s brand and culture.
How we drive impact:

Improving safety and wellbeing for our people and communities.
Promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

Our climate commitments

We've made some ambitious climate targets to achieve by 2030 and beyond.

The journey so far

NRMA is committed to making a positive impact for the planet, for our 3.4 million members today, and for future generations.

This is why we are doing our bit to accelerate the electric transition of the transport sector, and driving emissions reductions within our own business and value chain.
