How can I get cheaper gas and electricity?
To help you save on your monthly gas and electric bills, it’s best to compare your gas and electricity plans at least once a year to ensure you’re not overpaying for your energy usage.
As an NRMA member, you can take advantage of ENGIE's competitive energy rates and plans as well as enjoy special member offers to help you lower your household costs and enjoy cheaper electricity and gas all-year round.
How much does electricity cost?
If you are on a Time of Use tariff with ENGIE, the electricity rate you pay will differ depending on the time of day you use your electricity. There are three periods:
Peak – Typically occurs late afternoon and evenings Monday to Friday when electricity costs are at their highest.
Shoulder – These rates usually occur in between peak and off-peak periods and cost slightly less than peak times.
Off-peak – Electricity rates at this time are the cheapest, such as overnight and are outside peak and shoulder times. If you are looking to save on your electric bills, then this would be a good time to put your dishwasher or washing machine on.
Alternatively, if you are on a single rate tariff, then you will pay the same electricity rate no matter what time of day you typically run your electrical appliances.
Are there NRMA member offers in other states?
NRMA members living in Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia, can also make the most of their membership with a great offer from ENGIE. Visit the ENGIE website to find out more.
