We've partnered with wildlife experts to help motorists care for injured animals.

The NRMA

Sadly, seeing injured wildlife on the road is pretty common in Australia. It's made all the worse when drivers are not sure how to help. Thanks to a new partnership, that might be about to change.

Wildlife Recovery Australia (WRA) is a national wildlife conservation organisation working in partnership with the NRMA. WRA is a joint venture between Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital (BBWH) and the Odonata Foundation. The NRMA is proudly supporting BBWH to create custom wildlife rescue kits so drivers can do more to help injured wildlife found on the roads.

What is included in a wildlife car rescue kit?

The kits, which have been endorsed by veterinary experts and wildlife carers, are designed to help Australian road users take vital action that could help to save injured wildlife on the roads.

Each kit will contain a range of emergency items as well as guidelines on how to use them. Importantly, the guides will also contain key contact numbers and a QR code directing drivers to the iFAW Wildlife Rescue App. The app helps users locate the nearest veterinary clinic or wildlife rescue group so you can get further advice on how to help the injured animal.

The Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital has all proceeds to help BBWH carry out lifesaving veterinary care for wildlife. The kits are back in stock and retail for $80 plus shipping.

While the kits will help save injured animals on the road, you can also do your bit and drive with care to help prevent collisions with wildlife.
