How long does it take to go around Featherdale Wildlife Park?

To give yourself enough time to see the entire animal collection, we recommend at least two hours at the park. However, there is plenty to keep you occupied for the entire day including feeding the kangaroos and wallabies, enjoying a leisurely picnic lunch in the shady picnic areas and visiting the gift shop. For an additional fee, you can also enjoy a range of unique and memorable animal encounters with quokkas, penguins, crocodiles and more.

When is Featherdale open?

Opening hours are from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm daily, except Christmas Day.

What animals are at Featherdale Wildlife Park?

Visitors can spot over 2,000 Australian native animals, from more than 260 different species. The park is also home to the world’s largest assortment of Australian wildlife. Here you will find the largest collection of koalas in NSW, as well as kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, wombats, echidnas, bilbies, Tasmanian devils, reptiles (snakes, pythons, lizards, monitors, turtles, frogs, spiders), Southern Cassowary, Quolls and an impressive collection of birds from Australia and worldwide.

Can I hold a koala?

It is illegal to hold and cuddle a koala in NSW. However, visitors can pat a koala or enjoy a personal koala encounter with photo keepsake for an additional fee.

Is there a café?

Yes, refuel at the Featherdale Café which serves hot and cold food and drink options including fresh sandwiches, ice creams, tea, coffee and cold drinks. You can of course bring a picnic and enjoy it at the two shady picnic areas.
