What is Australian Outback Spectacular about?
Australian Outback Spectacular's Heartland plunges guests into the outback with a compilation of dust and beauty, drought and rain, in a transformative arena that appears to spin, turn and shatter. Enjoy a true Australian story with characters, Reg and Marge, two struggling farmers who battle to muster their cattle off the farm to save their stock from the harsh realities of living on the land.

What are the seating types?

There are three seating options available:

  • General Admission – The most popular seating type, complete with a delicious three-course meal including drinks (beer, wine and soft drinks) for the show duration.
  • Top Rail Premium - Gets you the best seats in the house along with VIP treatment. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal and premium beverages. Receive a complimentary pre-show beverage, an exclusive printed photograph taken upon arrival and a souvenir program.
  • The Drovers Lounge – Experience hospitality at its finest. Receive a complimentary souvenir program and enjoy early entry and a behind the scenes tour from the comfort of an exclusive lounge for up to 12 guests. Indulge in a lavish four-course meal and a premium suite of beverages.

All patrons will receive a complimentary straw hat to remember the night.

What food do they serve during the show?

Enjoy a hearty three-course meal with drinks throughout the show, served by stockmen and women. The menu is subject to change and is based on seasonality, featuring Australian grown produce and supporting local businesses.

Entree

Rustic woodfire roasted Vegetable and Goat Feta Tart served with wild rocket and homemade pineapple chutney.

Main

A juicy eye fillet steak or tender chicken breast with a full-bodied jus dressed with lashings of plum sauce and accompanied with green beans, potato and roast pumpkin.

Vegetarian Main

Mini camp oven filled with braised vegetables served with green beans, roast pumpkin and a potato parcel.

Dessert

A delicate Dark Chocolate Tart served with a delicious honey salted caramel sauce and a light dusting of chocolate dirt.

Drinks

Choose from XXXX Gold beer, a selection of Hardy’s Wine and soft drinks to accompany your meal for the duration of the show.

Dietary options are available including, vegetarian, low gluten, low dairy, low nut and low egg.

How long does the show last?
The show duration is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and includes a delicious three-course Aussie BBQ meal.
What time does the show start?
Evening performances start at 7:30 pm Tuesday to Saturday, whilst the monthly Sunday matinee begins at 12:30 pm. Doors to the venue open approximately one hour and 15 minutes before showtime (6:15 pm or 11:15 am on Sundays). Arena doors open 30 minutes before showtime, with pre-show entertainment commencing at the same time.
What are the opening hours?

The show is closed on Christmas Day, 25th December.

Evening performances run Tuesday to Saturday with a Sunday matinee, typically operating the last Sunday of every month.

 

Where is Australian Outback Spectacular held?

The venue is located just off the Pacific Motorway at Oxenford in the Gold Coast, between Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet’n’Wild theme parks. It is either a 20-minute drive north of Surfers Paradise or 45 minutes south of Brisbane.

The show is held within the Iconic Red Roof venue which has been created to give the audience a true sense of the Australian Outback. Expect a corrugated iron roof, fully themed landscape and scenic backdrops, heavy timbers, galvanized railings and old fashioned wagon wheel light fittings.

How to get to Australian Outback Spectacular from Sydney

By Car: The shortest drive from Sydney is about 860km. We’d recommend making the most of the journey by stopping overnight along the way at an NRMA Holiday Park. You can also plan your route using the My NRMA app to get cheap fuel and food along the way.

By plane: Gold Coast Airport is a 1 hour and 20 minute flight from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith. From there, the theme park is 40km north – you could rent a car at the airport or take three connections by public transport (under 2 hours).

Brisbane Airport is a 1 hour 30 minute flight from Sydney. From there, the theme park is a 70km drive south or two connections on public transport (about 2 hours). For timetables, or more information or to plan your journey visit TransLink or call on 13 12 30.
