A mum’s honest review of Bluey’s World

A mum’s honest review of Bluey’s World

Modern Aussie icons don’t come much bigger than Bluey, but is her dedicated walk-through experience worth the hype?

As a mum of toddler twins, it’s hard to escape Bluey. But as far as children’s TV goes, this show has been a breakthrough globally and it’s difficult not to be absorbed into the Heeler world.

Bluey’s World, an immersive experience in Brisbane’s Northshore Pavilion was announced in December 2023 and opened in November 2024. The wait was extensive – and toddlers aren’t known for their patience – but it was thoroughly worth it.

Bluey's World

What happens at Bluey’s World?

Arriving at Bluey’s World is a magical experience – literally! Everyone gets a set of ears (with each Heeler member to choose from) and fairies welcome you to the outside of the Heeler house that has been lovingly and accurately recreated.

Split up into small groups (fantastic for not having to worry about where the kids are!) you travel through Bluey’s house – the living room, the bedroom, the kitchen, and more. A special guide takes you through each room on a quest to find Bluey and Bingo, while some old favourites try to disrupt your search on the way.

At the end of the adventure, and after securing a picture with Bluey and Bingo, you arrive in the neighbourhood where there is a huge playground for the kids, a takeaway shop, and of course a gift shop. At this stage, everything still looks like it jumped straight out of the television and there are plenty of photo opportunities.

Is Bluey’s World interactive?

Absolutely! In every room there are things to explore and play with, a highlight being the kitchen and playroom, which make you feel just like a resident in the Heeler home.

The performers are very skilled at keeping the kids engaged and coaxing standoffish parents to enjoy the story as well.

There’s even a room where you can go full dance mode with Chattermax and the little ones can get all their wiggles out. Having extended time in the backyard helps with this too.

What’s the best part of Bluey’s World?

The attention to detail is outstanding. Even as an adult, I was blown away by every little piece that had been so thoughtfully recreated.

There was a longdog to find in every room, Turtleboy was sitting in the playground, the pizza boxes were branded “pizza girls”, and in the kitchen, there was an iconic duck cake in the oven.

The kids will love it, but any parent who has watched the show will also adore the feeling of truly living inside Bluey’s world.

How much does Bluey’s World cost?

Ticket prices fluctuate between on- and off-peak, with the most expensive (weekends) being $64.90.

Children under two are free and you can get great savings if you go mid-week. Bear in mind you’ll probably spend at the gift shop (we easily racked up $100) and more if you purchase food and drink.

For a limited time, My NRMA Rewards members can save 20% off the price of admission. Get in quick – while Bluey’s World is sticking around until February 2026, you can only claim the 20% discount from May 1-June 23, 2025.
