Australians with the already-sporty 2026 Ford Ranger Raptor on their shopping list will have the option of speccing one out with a limited run Desert Pack, as Ford Australia pays homage to the model’s success in Australian off-road racing.
Partnering with Australian off-road accessory manufacturer ARB, Ford Australia will deck out the Ranger Raptor Desert Pack with select upgrades. These include a Raptor-specific sports bar, four ‘Nacho Quatro Lamps’ affixed to a purpose-built roof bar, a bespoke Desert Pack Decal pack, and Ford Performance all-weather floor mats.
Available on 500 units, the Desert Pack will set buyers back $5990 on top of the 2026 Ranger Raptor’s $90,690 before on-roads sticker price when the limited edition variant goes on sale this month.
The pack is inspired by the Ranger Raptor’s successes in the Finke Desert Race – a gruelling two-day event in the Northern Territory that takes competitors from Alice Springs to the remote Indigenous community of Aputula, or Finke, and back. Ford recently secured its third consecutive Finke Desert Race Production Class victory.
Ford Australia marketing director Ambrose Henderson describes the limited run fit-out as one that “celebrates that racing heritage while delivering the authentic off-road enhancements that our most enthusiastic customers have been asking for”.
“By partnering with ARB, we're bringing that same spirit of extreme performance to customers who demand that little bit extra capability and style from their Raptor," he said.
No slouch in non-Desert Pack guise either, the Ranger Raptor packs a twin-turbo 3.0-litre petrol V6, sending 292kW and 583Nm to all four wheels via a 10-speed auto and electrically controlled locking diffs front and rear. Damping is taken care of by Ford Performance-specific FOX shocks with automatic adjustment.
The Desert Pack will remain exclusively as a pack until all 500 allocations have been exhausted, at which point the accessories will be sold individually through Ford dealers.
