and interactive environment

Our classroom-style training sessions are held at your premises and take around three hours.

They will typically cover the following topics:
  • The five main crash risks and the safety strategies to avoid them
  • The human factors relating to crashes
  • Accelerating and braking: understanding crash-avoidance space
  • Thinking styles: staying motivated to drive in a low risk manner
  • Common misunderstood road rules
  • Green driving
  • Fatigue management
  • Occupant safety and vehicle maintenance (conducted around an actual vehicle)

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
  • Recognise their personal contribution to overall road safety goals
  • Understand the philosophy behind low risk driving techniques
  • Learn the foundation of low risk driving including Crash Avoidance Space (CAS)
  • Identify common risk situations in real driving environments
  • Choose and implement low risk driving strategies in real life environments
  • Develop new values, attitudes and thought processes that contribute to safer driving

The NRMA can also provide specialised training for:
  • Car park environments and valet parking
  • Familiarisation and manoeuvring of long wheel base vehicles and larger vans
  • Coaching and/or assessments for drivers new to Australian roads
  • Corporate safety days and conferences as a guest speaker
