Sustainability

The NRMA is a purpose-led organisation which means we’re always searching for ways to create shared value by meeting the needs of our Members while solving big issues faced by the wider community. By centering our business model around social purpose, we’re harnessing the power of scale to create real change on enormous problems such as urban road congestion, access to efficient and affordable transport and connectivity with rural and regional Australia.

We report on our sustainability performance as part of our Annual Report. These details can be found on pages 18 and 19 of the 2020 Annual Report.

Modern Slavery Statement

The United Nations estimates that between 21 million and 45 million people are trapped in some form of slavery today. Modern slavery practices include, domestic servitude, human trafficking, forced labour, bonded and child labour, and forced marriage. The Australian government enacted the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act in 2018. The Act requires all companies with a net consolidated revenue over a nominated amount to report annually through the production of a modern slavery statement on their efforts to minimise the practice across their operations and supply chains. Accepted Statements are published on the government’s Modern Slavery register. This can be located here.

The NRMA is committed to reducing the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains and business operations and have been working with our business leaders to develop and implement processes and procedures designed to identify and mitigate modern slavery risks. Our FY2022 Modern Slavery Statement has now been published on the Modern Slavery Register.
