Mitsubishi Australia has announced pricing and specifications for its next-generation ASX, with the brand’s popular small-SUV set to cost up to $13,000 more than before when it arrives in the final quarter of the year.

Slimming the six-variant range offered in the previous generation down to just three, the 2026 ASX kicks off from $37,740 before on-road costs for base LS trim. At this price point, the new-gen ASX’s cheapest model is now more expensive than its previous flagship, the Exceed (at $35,240).

Moving up to mid-tier Aspire brings the price to $42,690, closed out by the range-topping Exceed for $46,490.

 Model Price before on-road costs
 2026 Mitsubishi ASX LS  $37,740
 2026 Mitsubishi ASX Aspire  $42,690
 2026 Mitsubishi ASX Exceed  $46,490

All variants of the new ASX ride on updated underpinnings shared with its ‘twin under the skin’ Renault Captur as part of the Renault-Mitsubishi-Nissan Alliance. This platform also includes the use of a new powertrain for the fresh ASX, which moves to a 113kW and 270Nm 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto driving the front wheels.

With claimed efficiency figures of 6.4L/100km and 142 grams of CO2 per kilometre, the new ASX brings consumption/emissions improvements of 16 and 19 per cent respectively compared to the outgoing model’s naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine.

Standard equipment is also up across the range, bringing the popular previous generation’s 14-year run to an end.

The entry-level GS ASX now scores auto headlights and wipers, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, 17-inch alloys, a 10.4-inch infotainment and 7.0-inch driver display screen with smartphone linking, and black-and-grey cloth seats with vinyl trimmings.

The mid-spec Aspire grade gains 18-inch wheel, privacy glass and other exterior trimmings, a redesigned floating centre console, wireless phone charging, a larger 10-inch driver display, heated steering wheel, additional safety equipment thanks to Mitsubishi’s Mi-Pilot system, grey cloth and vinyl interior, and ambient interior lighting. Aspire and up also gain an embedded Google suite on their infotainment system, including built-in maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play.

The move to top-trim Exceed scores buyers a panoramic sunroof, two-tone exterior paint, a frameless auto-dimming rear mirror, further interior styling tweaks and leather seats – the front row scoring heating and the driver getting electric adjustment.

Mitsubishi Australia guarantees the new ASX for 10 years and 200,000km, which includes 10 years of capped-price servicing and up to four years of complimentary roadside assist.
