The Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA) has honoured and celebrated NRMA Parks and Resorts at its 2025 National Conference, held on the Gold Coast in mid-May. The event brought together industry leaders and innovators from across the country to recognise outstanding contributions to the Australian caravan and camping sector.

For NRMA Parks and Resorts, it was a week marked by recognition, pride, and reflection on the impact of their work.

A major conference highlight for NRMA Parks and Resorts was being awarded the inaugural Community Engagement Award. This prestigious accolade was presented in recognition of their national partnership with Camp Quality, and celebrates “outstanding dedication to creating meaningful connections and positive impacts in local communities while representing the Australian Caravan and Camping Industry.”

Through this partnership, NRMA Parks and Resorts has played a vital role in supporting families that are navigating the challenges of childhood cancer. By providing opportunities for these families to enjoy time away together at various parks, the organisation helps deliver much-needed joy and relief during incredibly difficult periods in their lives.

The partnership has collectively raised more than $300,000 over the past three years, directly supporting Camp Quality’s mission and enabling special moments for families in need.

This award is not just a symbol of success; it reflects the heart and soul of the organisation. It acknowledges the dedication of park teams and support office staff, whose passion and commitment have brought initiatives like the Camp Quality Family Retreats and the annual Camp Out event to life. Their efforts have created memorable experiences for families while also strengthening community ties and demonstrating the power of purposeful partnerships.

Beyond the Community Engagement Award, the NRMA Parks and Resorts team has even more reasons to celebrate. Turtle Sands Holiday Park was named a finalist for CPAQ Host of the Year, a strong endorsement of the exceptional, guest-first experience delivered consistently by the team. The Turtle Sands team’s hospitality and customer care have become a benchmark within the industry.

In addition, Mitchell Gawthorn, NRMA’s National Operations Manager, was recognised as a finalist for the esteemed Future Leaders Award. His selection for this award, accompanied by a $1,000 professional development grant, highlights his leadership potential and the positive influence he continues to have within the organisation and the broader industry.

These recognitions go far beyond trophies and titles. They reflect NRMA Parks and Resorts’ ongoing commitment to excellence, community connection, and leadership within the caravan and holiday park industry. The team’s achievements are a powerful reminder of the difference that can be made when purpose, people, and passion align.
